Since application security doesn't control what users can do with data they've legitimately accessed, data loss prevention (DLP) technology is becoming more important to the enterprise. This presentation will provide an overview of the risks of data loss and how DLP technology should meet the controls in ISO/IEC 27001. Since DLP technology is currently stand alone and is not integrated into the identity and access management infrastructure of the organization, we will also discuss the vision for how DLP should be integrated with IAM processes and technology.
Risks to the database can come in a variety of forms and the results can be catastrophic however the breach happens. Yet many organizations today still rely on manual processes, perform infrequent scans, and lack the formalized policies and technology controls necessary to protect vulnerable database assets. In response to this growing problem, security professionals are proactively seeking ways to combat the threats. This presentation will discuss how to identify database vulnerabilities, how to use vulnerability assessment results to ensure comprehensive data protection, the importance of a comprehensive database vulnerability management program, and best practices on how to implement actionable plans to protect enterprise database assets.
As data travels throughout organizations, both internally and externally with business partners and customers, encryption is a tool frequently used to safeguard its integrity. However data encryption creates its own challenges. This session will examine some of the issues resulting from the adoption of enterprise encryption and the need to develop a robust key management strategy to accompany it.
